Pawsitive Rescue Sanctuary is a registered charity in England and Wales – charity number 1211279. Our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals in need, providing them with a safe and loving environment. The charity is self-funded and relies on donations and volunteer support.

REHOMING, SURRENDERING & VOLUNTEERING

When you adopt or foster, we collect relevant personal and home information to ensure a good match. When surrendering an animal, we collect details about its health, behaviour, and your ownership to meet legal obligations. For volunteers, we collect personal and health data to ensure we can support you and match you to suitable roles.

MARKETING & FUNDRAISING

PRS will only send marketing communications (email, SMS, phone, or social media) with your consent. You can change your preferences or opt out at any time by contacting us. We will never sell, rent, or swap your details for marketing purposes.

FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS

We process payments securely and do not store card details. If you use Gift Aid, we are legally required to keep records for six years.

LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING YOUR DATA

We process personal data under the following legal grounds:

FILMING & PHOTOGRAPHY

PRS or authorised third parties may take photos or videos at events for promotional purposes. No personal details of under-18s will be used without parental consent.

We keep personal data for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected:

  • Donations: up to 7 years after last transaction
  • Rehoming records: up to 20 years (lifetime of animal)
  • Suppression lists (opt-out records): indefinitely

DATA STORAGE & SHARING

All data is stored securely within the UK/EEA. We only share your data when necessary for PRS operations — e.g. with vets, microchip databases, or event organisers — and always under strict confidentiality agreements.
